We are seeking outstanding and responsible post-doctoral research
fellows to
contribute on projects in the areas of social robotics and bio-
mechanics.

The advancement of computational power and artificial intelligence has
made
it possible for robots to mimic many complex human abilities. In the
Social
Robotics Lab, we investigate core enabling technologies,
as well as design and development of sociable robots for applications
in
edutainment, health care and companionship.

The candidate should possess a doctorate in electrical, mechanical or
a
relevant discipline. Favorable consideration will be given to
applicants
with background in hardware, software, real-time or
artificial intelligence and good C/ C++, programming skills.

Remunerations will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Chicago

Job Title: Research Associate (Assistant Professor)

A Research Associate (Assistant Professor) position is available for
a
highly motivated individual who wants to advance his/her academic
career in
the field of medical imaging sciences/engineering. Our laboratory in
the
Department of Radiology in the Biological Sciences Division at The
University of Chicago focuses on research on computer-aided diagnosis
of
lesions in medical images and the development of techniques of
pattern
recognition, image analysis, and machine learning for computer-aided
diagnosis. Our department is one of the leaders in computer-aided
diagnosis
research, which is at the forefront of research areas in medical
imaging.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in computer science/engineering,
biomedical/electrical engineering, or a similar discipline, and
experience
in a relevant research area for several years in the U.S. after his/
her
Ph.D. The successful candidate must have substantial experience in 2D
and
3D pattern recognition, computer vision, medical image analysis, and/
or
machine learning. The successful candidate must also have several
high-
quality journal publications, excellent programming skills in the
computer
languages (C/C++, Perl, and Matlab), as well as strong problem-solving
and
excellent collaboration skills. Academic activities such as an
associate
editor, a journal reviewer, and a conference reviewer are encouraged.
